Primary Schools

A class visit at Cozmix consists of a film screening in the planetarium, followed by a live presentation where you discover the starry sky. After the planetarium, the guide will talk you through the interactive exhibition on astronomy. The visit ends in the observation tower where you can take a look through the telescopes. This basic package lasts 2 hours.

Planetarium

The planetarium is the heart of the Cozmix visitor center where you step inside the wonderful world of astronomy. This is where your visit starts. On an 84m² domed screen, you'll watch the desired fulldome show from one of the 45 reclining chairs. This show can be about the solar system, the planets or the universe. For primary schools we provide various children's shows.

Following the film screening we discover the beautiful starry sky and travel to other planets. You'll journey to the darkest places on Earth where you can observe more than 7000 stars. Why are the days longer during summer than during winter? And what's up with the midnight sun and Polaris?

Exhibition area

In the multimedia and interactive exhibition of Cozmix you will find answers to many questions. After consultation, we'll go deeper into certain aspects of space travel and astronomy. Through various methods with our cute stuffed planets or impressive Saturn V model, we'll learn about the solar system in a playful way.

Observatory

If the planetarium is the beating heart of Cozmix, then the telescopes in the tower are the highly sensitive eyes of the visitor center. The two large telescopes in the dome bring countless objects in the starry sky into excellent focus. A visit to the observatory would not be complete without a visit to our telescope with the pupils. Even in case of poor weather we can provide an alternative.

Workshops

Groups can opt to add one or more workshops to their visit in addition to (or instead of) the basic visit and thus create their own program. Choose from one of our workshops developed specifically for primary schools. These STEM-activities all last 1 hour.

Educational DOBOX

After a group visit, elementary schools have the unique opportunity to carry out a large number of playful but instructive experiments. A clear manual is provided for each activity, explaining step by step how to get everything to run smoothly. All supplies are presented in a large DOBOX. This can be taken to class for a week. So unpack and discover!
