Workshops preschool

Schools may choose to add one or more workshops to their programme in addition to (or instead of) the basic visit. Here you will find an overview of the different workshops for preschool education. Please note that some workshops might only be available in Dutch. Contact the observatory for more information.

Astronaut Trail

The ‘Astronaut Trail’ workshop focuses on learning, play and movement, in line with the developmental objectives of preschool education in Flanders. With a complete info guide and activities per planet, the journey through the solar system becomes even more fun. A fully equipped wagon with all the necessary materials can be borrowed free of charge here. Try following the stepping stones on Mercury, find all the moons of Jupiter, or march along with Mars to the beat of the music!

This workshop is also possible without supervision, subject to a deposit for the use of the wagon with materials.

Observing

The ‘Observing’ workshop can be taught at different levels. As a preschool workshop, it ties in with the planetarium show ‘Polaris’. Together, we pack our bags to go on a space journey and learn more about the moon, craters, binoculars and telescopes.
